PremiseDayton Wars is a multiple-event series that allows the players to determine how it progresses. Some of the phases will have somewhat structured incentives while others will be more of an open world “sandbox” where factions may create their own objectives. Local/regional airsoft teams and individual airsofters will be maneuvered into forming alliances that will be solidified by their membership within either of the two opposing factions known as the Buzzell Brigade and the Gould Guild. There is no role playing. All participants will be playing as themselves in an ongoing conflict that is limited only to the rules of airsoft. This event series is designed to build faction loyalty and a friendly rivalry similar to what is seen between competing sports fans.
Area of Operations (AO)
For an interactive map, click HERE.
AssetsPrior to startex, three supply assets will be spread out in remote/woodsy locations around the AO. Each faction commander will probably want to deploy their forces to comb the AO in an effort to retrieve these assets before the enemy does.In order to begin earning minutes for your faction for each asset that you find, you must activate it by bringing it within five feet of the self-respawn pole at your faction's FOB (Tents for Buzzell Brigade or Marsh for Gould Guild) and use the attached Baofeng radio which is set to a special frequency to notify Omego of the asset number and the FOB location name where you are. Do not use your own radio to notify Omego. After you press the talk button on the asset's radio, wait a couple seconds for the beeps to stop before speaking. Call Omego again if you don't receive an immediate response from him. Any delay in successfully radioing this will delay the accrual of minutes. You may have multiple assets there earning multiple minutes simultaneously. Each asset’s minute accrual will be started and stopped on Omego’s smart phone. Everyone with an internet connection may monitor the scoreboard in real time through the URL linked HERE. You may hide and booby-trap the assets, but you are not allowed to tie/lock them down to prevent someone from physically running off with them. Once an asset has been activated at your FOB, you may not move it away. Only the enemy may do so; after which, you may grab it again to bring it back.Likewise, you are welcome to steal assets that are being held anywhere by your enemy which includes raiding their FOB for them. After you grab an asset and move it more than five feet away from their FOB's self-respawn pole, you may use the attached radio to notify Omego of the asset number and the enemy FOB location name that has been deactivated so that the enemy's minute accrual will be stopped. Or, you may choose to wait until you've carried it off to a safer place before radioing to Omego and letting the enemy know that you just stole their asset. Then, you will need to radio Omego again if you're able to drop the asset off at your FOB so that it'll start accruing minutes for your faction. There's no limit to the number of times an asset can be moved, activated, or deactivated. You may not move assets to your safe self-respawn (Pallet Base for Buzzell Brigade or Logger's Entrance for Gould Guild) because these locations are only to be used for self-respawning especially in the event that your FOB is overrun. Players are forbidden from attacking their opponent's safe self-respawn; therefore, it's too disruptive to the game to store assets there.
Leader Kill ConfirmedIf you are a Commanding Officer (CO), Executive Officer (XO), or Squad Leader (SL), you will be given a string necklace with an attached paper dog tag. During your 3-minute sit time after getting hit, you must tear off the dog tag to give to the first enemy who gets close enough to take it even if it wasn’t the shooter. This is known as a leader kill confirmed. You must remain seated and/or out of play for the full 3 minutes regardless of when the dog tag was taken, but you may still be "dragged" by a live player per the drag rules. If no enemy gets to you within those first 3 minutes, you do not need to give up a dog tag even if you’ve decided to wait longer for a friendly player to respawn you in place. Show the enemy the time on your wristwatch as proof that it is beyond 3 minutes. Once your dog tag has been taken, you won't have any more to give up which means that this feature of the game no longer applies to you.If you are the player who successfully took a dog tag from an enemy leader, you must contact Omego over the radio to relay information from the tag in order to earn instant bonus minutes for your faction in the following amounts: CO=60, XO=30, SL=15.
Control SitesAbout halfway through the operation at 13:00, Omego will put three control sites into play located at Gully Base, Prison, & SGC.To capture a control site, you must throw your enemy’s flag on the ground and replace it with your own as shown HERE. There’s no limit to the number of times that the flags may be flipped on a control site, but you’re not allowed to steal or hide the flags. In order to begin accruing minutes for your faction on the control site that you just captured, you must also use the Baofeng radio that is located at the control site to notify Omego of the flip. Any delay in radioing the flip will delay the accrual of minutes. Each faction’s minute accrual will be started and stopped on Omego’s smart phone. Everyone with an internet connection may monitor the scoreboard in real time through this URL: https://multitimer.net/board/?q=lv26ncmw1j
DaytonCoinAfter endex, each faction's total minutes will be converted into a cryptocurrency called DaytonCoin at an exchange rate of one DaytonCoin per minute. Your faction's DaytonCoin will be logged by Omego and saved for future events within this series so that it may be used to purchase things like new recruits, mercenary services, vehicular insertions, base fortifications, propaganda, and other special items/privileges.
