In August of 1966, a company of Australian and New Zealand soldiers endured an attack from a much larger force while being pinned down in a remote rubber tree plantation called Long Tân.

Semi-Auto OnlyFull-automatic and burst-mode firing are prohibited at this event. Only one BB is to be projected with each cycle of the trigger.However, we allow the following exceptions to this rule:
Double-barrel guns such as THIS when fired only in semi-auto
We’re also allowing full-auto for replicas of guns that were designed to fire in full-auto during the Vietnam/American War such as an AKM/AKMS/AK47 (must have correct body and flash hider; no AK74 or Krinkov), Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), CAR-15/GAU-5/XM177, FAL/L1A1, FN MAG, M1 carbine, M2 carbine, M3 grease gun, M14 (including the SOCOM), M16A1 (no A2 or dressed-up flat top), M60, MAC-10, MG 34, MP 40, MP 41, Owen gun, PPSh family, RPD, RPK, Sterling submachine gun, Thompson submachine gun, Uzi, 30-caliber machine gun, 50-caliber machine gun. Radio CommunicationIf you have a two-way radio, keep it set on your faction’s radio channel. You may monitor the other factions' channels, but do not transmit on them. VOX mode, hot mic-ing, and channel jamming are all prohibited. Please familiarize yourself with your radio and program in its channels before arriving at the field.
Dress CodeThis is not a strict reenactment. Many participants will show up with modern camo/clothing and equipment. If you have a somewhat authentic-looking outfit, please wear it. If not, we may provide you witha loaner item that will distinguish you from the opposing faction.If you'd like to be with the VC, please keep in mind that we sell beige boonie hats for $7 each and Chicom Type 56 chest rigs for $20 each at the field. You can also order items for either faction in advance from other online sellers using Stockman's extensive list linked HERE.
Phase 1: Exclusion Zone (11:00–12:30)GI forces will secure their main base at Nui Dat as well as SAS Hill and two other locations, but the VC may put up some resistance.
Phase 2: Delta Company (12:30–13:30)While maintaining security at Nui Dat, selected GI will move into Long Tan in search of enemies and any remnants. They will need to set up defensive positions against the relentless oncoming VC.
Phase 3: 1st Armoured Personnel Carrier Squadron (13:30–13:45)The surviving GI at Long Tan will need to be evacuated by APC before they are overrun.
Phase 4: Aftermath (13:45–14:00)The GI will escort General William Westmoreland to Long Tan for an inspection while they clean up the battlefield.
Phase 5: Memorial (14:00–14:15)A brief service will be held at the site of the fallen.
